Set up onboarding
This is an admin task. Before you invite neighbors, decide how they'll end up attached to their homes and whether you want to review them first. These choices live in your neighborhood settings.
Open your neighborhood settings:
In the sidebar, under Settings, choose Neighborhood.
Tap the menu icon (in the top-left), then under Settings choose Neighborhood.
Tap the menu icon (in the top-left), then under Settings choose Neighborhood.
Choose an onboarding flow
The onboarding flow controls how residents attach to a household:
- Self-serve: residents add their own household when they join.
- Claim only: you (or an import) create the households up front, and residents claim the one that's theirs.
- Admin managed: you set everything up, and residents are linked to their household automatically by matching email, without creating or claiming anything.
Choose a member approval mode
Separately, the member approval mode controls who gets in:
- Automatic: new residents get access the moment they finish signing up.
- Manual: new residents wait in a pending state until you approve them.
These two settings combine. You might, for example, pre-load every household and still require manual approval before anyone gets in. Switching from manual to automatic also approves anyone who was already waiting.
Track adoption from the Onboarding dashboard
Open Settings > Onboarding for the dashboard that helps you get the neighborhood up and running. It shows:
- Adoption progress: how many households and residents have been claimed.
- Recently claimed homes, so you can watch adoption happen.
- A queue of pending approvals (in manual mode), with inline approve and reject.
- Quick access to your invite link, a shortcut to Smart Import, and printable door hangers, one per home, each carrying the join link and code as a QR code for physical distribution.
Next steps: seed your homes with Import households, then share your code following Invite your neighbors.
